Tonight "Rise Up New York! A Benefit for @RobinHoodNYC" went down live on Power 105.1! Tonight's goal was to raise money for all our fellow New Yorkers who are struggling and vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the money also goes to aid those organizations who are working on the frontlines to help our city get back to normal!
With some of the biggest names in entertainment coming together for the event such as Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Chris Rock, the Hip-Hop community of NYC also showed out to support!
With a combined message from RZA, Mike D, Darryl Mcdaniels, Ad-Rock, Rosie Perez, Salt-N-Pepa, Chris Rock, and Fab 5 Freddy, they express how important it is that as a culture we come together because our people are the ones being affected the most:
"A true cultural phenomenon starting with graffiti art, MCing, breakdancing, and then it took over fashion, film, literature, sports, everything, but the community where the culture was born are hurting the most, black and spanish New Yorkers are dying more than any other group"
